The first ever girl's only Ardmore Rovers Mini World Cup Sponsored by Glenveagh Homes, held on Sunday, 25th June 2023, was an outstanding success with 115 girls taking part on the day. There were 3 age groups in action with the youngest competing in the 2015/2016 born group and the oldest the 2011/2012 born group, with all the girls producing some fantastic and very entertaining football with one of the finals even going to penalties.
But it wasn't just the football that was entertaining on the day as there was also a "Soak Your Coach" fundraiser for the Gavin Glynn Foundation, which raised €135, taking place along with a raffle for a top prize of a place in The Ardmore Rovers Soccerettes Easter Camp 2024.
A big shout out to Karl Mohan, head of the Ardmore Rovers Girls Section, for organising the big day along with Pete Doyle and our other girls managers and coaches.
A special mention also has to go out to our sponsors, Glenveagh Homes (Main Sponsor of our Girls Section), Sealife Bray, SuperValu Castle Street Bray, Farrell Motors, Pacific Signs and Select Hire.
Last but not least we would like to thank all those who helped to make the day such a success, our volunteers from coaches to refs to first aid and most importantly the girls for taking part and their parents for bringing them along and supporting them so well from the side lines.
